Open Forms
Jocelyn Miller, Eliza Ng, Benjamin Koditschek
PUTTY’S CORONATION is pleased to announce the opening of OPEN FORMS, a group exhibition including works by Jocelyn Miller, Eliza Ng, and Benjamin Koditschek at Putty’s Coronation at 483 17th Street, Apartment 4B, Brooklyn, NY 11215 from January 26th - January 28th 2023
Open Forms brings together the work of three artists making abstract vessels at the edge of functionality. Eliza Ng’s volumes stretch upward, graceful, yet containing surprisingly playful connections. Benjamin Koditschek pushes clay to the verge of failure, creating new relics that defy ready usability. Jocelyn Miller’s ceramic forms are both architectural and anthropomorphic, using her notion of the ‘feminine brutalist’ to articulate strength through radical softness. All three work in stoneware, creating vessels intended to be incorporated into daily life, but without a pre-designated use. These undefined, yet familiar forms will be complimented by Erin Park’s floral arrangements.
